I traveled to Zipaquirá this week to see la Catedral de Sal, or the Salt Cathedral. Its a huge, underground cathedral made of salt! In fact, there's only one other like it, located in Poland. It was only a two-hour bus ride.
It was nice to take a break this week and stay near to Bogotá. Over the past three months, I have traveled all around the country, and to Buenos Aires, Argentina! I'm not sure how far exactly that I've gone, but I would say at least 100 miles.
This week I traveled mostly by bus. Sometimes I used the large, red transmilenios, which are always full of people. Other times, I used the small, blue, SITP buses that are easier to find a seat on.
There is another famous church in Bogotá called St. Augustine. I had the pleasure of seeing it before it started pouring rain!
