Travel News

I don’t live very far from where I work (about a 30 minute walk). Additionally, the transportation system in Munich is fairly good, so it is generally possible to get to anywhere in the city within a reasonable time. I traveled to Eibsee with my friends via the regional trains that run from the Munich Central Train Station (in German: München Hauptbahnhof).

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place I visited this week was the Eibsee, as mentioned earlier. The views of the Zugspitze and generally the mountains from beside the lake were amazing. Since it is winter here in Germany right now and the temperatures are usually slightly under freezing, the entire lake is frozen over. I was able to walk on the ice across part of the lake, which was basically walking on water! This was really exciting to me because I grew up in the Seattle area where it usually doesn’t get cold enough for me to do this.

Other Travel News from this week:

I am flying to Boston, Massachusetts, next weekend for my work. I am excited because I will also be able to visit my older brother, who currently lives in Boston! I am also making plans with my friends to travel to Austria or Switzerland for skiing sometime in the future.
