I traveled at least 18 miles (30 km) this week, primarily going to and from the school I work at.
I have traveled 160 miles (257 km) so far when it comes to me going to and from the school that I work with.
I have gotten around by taxi and walking.
I visited my school's library this week! As a library and information science master's student, I am interested in working within the library science field. I knew that I wanted to volunteer at a library while I am here on my Fulbright. Luckily, I was able to volunteer at my school's library! While there, I shelve books, run statistics, catalogue books and observe students during their study period to make sure they are actually studying. I have been really enjoying it so far!
Many people get around Serowe using taxis, including locals. So much so that at Boiteko Junction Mall, which is the local mall here in Serowe, there is a whole space in the back of the parking lot dedicated to taxis where they park and where taxi drivers will take locals from the mall to wherever else they need to go to. Many children will take taxis every day to and from school rather than taking a bus to school.
