Travel News

I like walking there for dinner sometimes. The food reminds me of growing up in Seattle, where there are many Asian restaurants. There are so many places to choose from inside the food hall that I get to try a new restaurant almost every time I go.

Other Travel News from this week:

To get to Machu Picchu, I will first fly to the nearest airport in Cusco, a city high in the Andes Mountains. From Cusco, I will take a bus to a town called Ollantaytambo. There, I will get on a train that travels through the mountains to the base of Machu Picchu, a town called Aguas Calientes.

Because the area is very high in the mountains, it is recommended that visitors stay overnight at the base of the mountain to get used to the altitude. The next day, I will take another bus that drives about 30 minutes up the mountain to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Some people choose to hike from the bottom of the mountain to Machu Picchu instead. My friend told me the hike takes about two hours and can be very tiring. Because of the steep climb and high altitude, I will be taking the bus up instead!
