I traveled to Monforte de Lemos and back on October 26th, which was about forty miles in total. My friend and I probably walked a total of six or seven miles in the town over the course of the day. On the 27th, we walked three and a half miles to the hot springs, and then took the train back to Ourense for the same distance.
I would estimate that I've traveled around 6,000 miles in total since I left Chattanooga in early September.
During the week, different teachers at my school drove me from Ourense to the school and back. I took the train to Monforte de Lemos on October 26th with my friend. I walked to every other place I went to in the city over the course of the week.
My friend and I went to a tower in Monforte de Lemos called Torre del Homenaje. In the tower, there were different exhibits and plaques explaining how the tower was run in medieval times. It also explained the history of the area and the different groups who have controlled Monforte de Lemos over the last 1,500 years. We then took in panoramic views of the town once we got to the top of the tower.
