Since I’ve been in China, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Shanghai, Beijing, Wuzhen, and I'll hopefully take another trip after I take my midterm exams.

How did I get around this week?:

I got around this week primarily on my bike.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

My program took us to an ancient water town that was established during the mid 16th century during the Ming Dynasty. The town still has local people who live there, but it has mainly turned into a tourist site. Within the city, there is a museum that showed what life was like during the Ming Dynasty.

Other Travel News from this week:

Domestic travel within China, especially in Beijing, has been slowed down to an almost complete stop due to security reasons. This past week the Chinese government held their 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that occurs twice a decade. Essentially, the current officials are electing new members to replace the current sitting high-ranking officials. Travel has slowed down this week due to the resulting need for security.
