We were supposed to take the train to Busan, just like in the movie, but it was all sold out, so we had to take the bus. From Seoul to Busan, it is approximately 202 miles. If we had taken the train, it would have taken us only two hours to get there, but it took us five hours since we took the bus. It was incredibly tiring, but it was also part of the experience. It was a terrific road trip with great views!
On this journey, I have traveled way more than 202 miles. It only took us 202 miles to get there, but once in Busan, we traveled all over the city.
Like in Seoul, we used taxis, the bus and walking to get around. South Korea has a great public transportation system, so if we couldn’t walk, we would take the bus. We only chose to take a taxi when we were traveling to the bus station and hotel.
The most interesting place I visited was Busan’s Gamcheon Cultural Village. It was my favorite part of the trip since it was beautiful! On the hillside, there are many picturesque homes with astonishing, bright colors. Nearby, you can find murals, many people walking and lots of cafes.
