Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

I've been listening to "Calm Down" by Rema a lot this past week, as well as Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving album. I have also been listening to Bad Bunny's DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS album and although I don't understand the lyrics because they are in Spanish, I have really enjoyed the music and the message behind the song.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity this week was getting to see my friends who also happened to also be in Accra at the same time as me! It's always nice catching up with other Peace Corps Volunteers and getting ideas about activities and projects I can do in my community.

What did I read this week?:

This week I started reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. This book is about two half-sisters who have two different lives and their descendants.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not play any sports this week as I was traveling for most of the week. Normally, I try to play soccer--or football as it is called here--which is the most popular sport.

Other news from this week:

I went to Accra to get my cat spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. My cat's name is Makoma which means "my heart" in Twi. I adopted her from a lady in my community back in June and I am excited to take her back to the U.S. after I finish my service.
