The coolest thing I saw this past week was the beaches of Da Nang. The beaches are largely free of trash and the horizon of the ocean is surrounded by beautiful mountains. In the distance on the nearest mountain, the statue of a beautiful giant Buddha can be seen overlooking the beaches.
We are in the final two weeks of the rainy season. By the end of the month, rain should become a fairly rare occurrence. This however also means increased temperature should be expected.
As Vietnam continues to rapidly develop, it is experiencing similar environmental problems as numerous other nations across the world. The government is looking for ways to balance economic development with the pollution affiliated with it. Air pollution has become so bad, most people wear masks when they are driving their bikes outside.
