There are lots of languages spoken in my apartment: Spanish, English, Italian, and French. We often switch languages several times within a single conversation. It's pretty cool!
Hip Hop Hooray: Hip-Hop in New York and Madrid
In my neighborhood, there is an anthropology museum. Anthropology is the study of humans and different cultures. When I visited the museum, I saw a really interesting exhibit about the influences of New York's hip-hop culture on Madrid. In many areas of Madrid, you can see graffiti and street art. This art was inspired by street art in New York City in the 1980s. Also, rap music became popular in Madrid and other parts of Spain, as people began writing rap songs in Spanish. Break dancing also became popular, and the fashion trends in New York City made their way to Madrid as well.
Ballooning Adventure
For a long time, riding in a hot air balloon has been on my bucket list, and I got to cross it off when I traveled to Barcelona, Spain. It was an awesome experience. It was scary at first when the balloon was rising, but once I was in the air, seeing everything below me was very calming. The balloon moved really slowly, and the ride lasted about an hour. It was quiet and peaceful as we were floating. I saw the Spanish countryside, and I could even see into France.
Adios (Goodbye)
I'm so happy I've been able to share parts of my life in Spain with you! I hope you get to share some of these experiences and create your own adventures when you're older.
¡Les deseo a todos un verano maravilloso! (Have a wonderful summer, everyone!)
