Nielsa is five years old and lives in a neighborhood called Hakahana which means “Hurry Up” in a local language, Otijihereo. Last weekend I visited her house and asked her questions about life in Namibia.
For breakfast I have tea with bread or cornflakes and milk. At lunch I have rice and chicken. In the afternoon, I have a snack of biscuits (cookies in the U.S). Dinner is pap (a thick cornmeal porridge found all over Southern Africa) with some meat.
I help clean the house by sweeping, mopping and by making my bed.
I start school at 7:30 in the morning and finish at 1:15 in the afternoon.
I take a taxi or walk with my cousins and siblings.
