The ride to Koh Ker is about three hours by car. Five of us were all squished into a truck for the entire ride, there and back. When we were in Koh Ker, the site was just a quick five-minute drive from where we were staying.
On this particular journey, we drove to Koh Ker, drove back to Siem Reap for a day, drove back to Koh Ker, and then back to Siem Reap at the end of fieldwork. That's a total of 12 hours in the truck, plus all of the short rides while in the field.
We used a big white truck that had all of our gear in the back! You can learn more modes of transportation in Cambodia in my Field Note (Transportation) this week. Mr. Sy drove us wherever we needed to go.
The most interesting places I went to this week were all of the temples we got to survey within the complex. We scanned a total of 15 temples with the drone and photography. That's a lot of photos.
