I really appreciate how clean the tap water is in Estonia, since I come from California!

What was the best meal this week?:

My favorite meal this week was actually dessert! I am in LOVE with Estonian dessert, since Estonians experiment with a lot of different flavors and dairy products. Kalev, the national brand of Estonian chocolate, is even better than Hershey's chocolate, in my opinion. The meal that stood out most to me was a traditional Estonian holiday dessert, a hardened waffle cone filled with pomegranate seeds, chocolate drizzle, and something called hapupiim (sour milk). Although hapupiim does not have a nice English translation, it is actually delicious and looks a bit like American whipped cream.

What music did I listen to this week?:

This week, I listened to a lot of Estonian rap music and American pop music. There is one famous Estonian rapper named Nublu, and I like listening to his music even though I don't understand the lyrics. Estonians typically enjoy songs in the Billboard Top 50, like Americans, and dabble in some Finnish EDM or electronic music.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

My favorite activity this week was visiting the Tallinn Christmas market. Christmas markets are a big part of holiday tradition in Europe, and they usually involve little shacks that sell sugared sweets and knitted woolen goods, as well as featuring performances on stage and giant Christmas decorations. Although it is after Christmas, the market in Tallinn is still dynamic, alive and exciting! The Tallinn Christmas market was voted the best in Europe, and it shows!
