Our News

All of the beautiful lights, fun music and wooden toy installations are truly wonderful.

What did I read this week?:

I have been reading a lot of journal articles and academic papers for my research on e-residency, but I also love reading in my free time. The two books I am reading right now are Becoming, Michelle Obama's biography, and White Teeth, by Zadie Smith. When I need a break, I also like to read things on ESPN, since I am a huge Washington Capitals fan, and it is hockey season right now.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

Tartu has two activity venues that I love to visit when it is cold and dark outside, an Escape Room and a virtual reality arcade. Estonia pays close attention to sports and games trends popular in other parts of the world, so it is fun to take advantage of them here when I want something to do. In the virtual reality arcade, I can use headsets to play traditional games like PacMan or cards, but in 3-D.

Other news from this week:

This week was very relaxing since I tried a few new restaurants and celebrated the birthday of a co-worker. I went to the movies to see both Bohemian Rhapsody and Fantastic Beasts. In Estonia, people don't believe in dubbing movies, so they keep the original English audio but use Estonian and Russian subtitles. I also went to a performance by an Estonian musician who played the bayan, a type of Russian accordion.
