A Virtual German Food Tour

Introduction:

Isn’t it fun to cook and eat with friends and family? I think it is wonderful to enjoy special meals with people I love during holidays and birthdays. In this note, I am going talk about and show you some of the foods I have tried here in Germany. Which of these foods would you like to try?

What food did I try?:

I tried Bratwurst with mustard, a pastry called a Franzbrötchen, pancake, and a enormous pastry called a Windbeutel.  Read on to learn more about them!

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I really loved the Franzbrötchen. A Franzbrötchen almost tastes like a cross between a cinnamon roll and a croissant.

The bratwurst (a kind of sausage) was good with the mustard, but it was a lot of meat. Since I do not often eat meat, I did not enjoy it.

The pancake soup was rather interesting, and since it was cold outside, I felt warm when I ate the soup.

The Windbeutel, which is a flaky pastry cream puff, was enormous and gave me a tummy ache.

How is the food prepared?:

Franzbrötchens are made from cinnamon and pastry dough. Then the dough is shaped and baked.

Bratwurst is a type of German sausage made from pork, beef or veal that is cooked on a grill.

Pancake soup is made from broth. Strips of German pancakes are put into the soup.

The Windbeutel is made from a large pastry.
