Austrian food is very delicious. Most of the food in Austria was inspired by food from one of the bordering countries. There are eight countries that border Austria. One of these countries is Germany. This is why Austrian food can be very similar to German food. I tried a very traditional Austrian food called Käsekrainer. Käse means cheese and krainer is a type of sausage. So a käsekrainer is a sausage filled with cubes of cheese. People in Vienna usually buy a Käsekrainer from a Würstelstand. A Würstelstand is a street food cart that sells sausages and hot dogs. The sausage comes in a long, soft bun with a hole in the middle. It is served with ketchup and mustard.
