I was lucky to spend four days of this week on the island of Ibiza in the Mediterranean Sea. Because Ibiza is a closer to the equator than Barcelona, we actually got to enjoy some warm weather. In fact, we were even able to spend a few days laying out in the sun in our swimsuits! Imagine being able to go to the beach in your swimsuit in the middle of October in Oregon – impossible, right?
This week, I saw two wild creatures that I don’t usually see in Barcelona. The first was a jellyfish. We saw the jellyfish, or medusa, when we were swimming in the sea. In fact, almost every one of us was stung by a jellyfish at some point in the trip! We met the second creature, an insect, at our house! It was a praying mantis, and it hung out with us as we were eating dinner on the terrace.
