What main languages are spoken here?:

Because Ibiza attracts an international crowd, you can hear many languages spoken here. During my four days here, I heard people speaking in English, Chinese, French, Spanish and Dutch. However, like Barcelona, the official language in Ibiza is Catalan!

What type of money is used here?:

Ibiza makes up one of the Balearic Islands, in addition to Mallorca, and Menorca. All of these islands form a part of Spain. So, like Spain, euros are used in Ibiza!

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

On islands, things are usually a lot more expensive. This is because a lot of things must be flown into the island, just like we flew in on a plane! While the supermarkets were only slightly more expensive than those in Barcelona, other places can be much more expensive! For example, when my friends and I went out to dance one night, we were shocked to see that the water cost €12!

What was the best meal this week?:

During one night of our vacation, our friends and I decided to cook homemade paella. If you remember from the “Buen Provecho!” article, paella is a rice dish that originated in Valencia, but is very popular throughout all of Catalunya. Paella can come made a number of different ways.
