I traveled by foot, motorcycle, and ferry to cross the river to visit Salvaterra, Pará. Most people drive motorcycles, ride bikes, or walk. There are few cars on the island.
The most interesting place I visited this week was called Praia Grande de Salvaterra, the Large Beach of Salvaterra. It is a beach made up of a mix of Atlantic seawater and river water from Amazon tributaries.
I loved traveling across the Paracauai River on the ferry! There were many other smaller boats also crossing.
