The weather has been cold and sunny with some rain here and there. This morning, I left the house and it was more cold than usual, and now they are forecasting our first snow on Friday. Snow in October: very Finnish!
Last night walking home, I was spooked by a large animal that I thought was a cat. When I stopped to watch it hop away into the shadows, I saw that it was a European hare, which is nocturnal and shy although quite big!
The leaves of the trees are turning golden and red here so quickly and it is very beautiful. Winter comes quickly this far north and autumn doesn’t have much time to shine! The fall leaves are beautiful and frantic, quickly changing color from green to gold in a few weeks, then carried away by bitter winds.
