The furthest I travelled this week was across the city, approxomately ten to twenty miles.
The flight from Minneapolis to Amman was over 6,000 miles.
I walk everywhere near me—to school, to the store, to get ice cream, etc., and then back.
I take Ubers everywhere else, such as to my internship or to meet my language exchange partner across town.
For group events, we take little old-school yellow busses that are rented by our program.
Certainly the orphanage.
We receive e-mail alerts from the U.S. State Department informing us of news everytime there are hostilities in the region, and because of Israel's ongoing campaign against Palestine and Iran, I see about 5-10 of these in my inbox each day. This is called the STEP program and is supposed to keep us updated on anything of potential concern to us so that we're able to make plans to evacuate quickly if necessary.
