Spending this time in India has been a wonderful experience for me. I hope that you've enjoyed your virtual travel experience!
Living in the United States, we can sometimes forget that the rest of the world doesn't look the same as what we are used to. Traveling is an exciting opportunity to experience something new and also remind ourselves how we are both similar and different to people in other countries. What are some ways you are similar or different to people in India?
You might say that we're similar to people in India in that we eat three meals a day, listen to music, watch television and movies, drive around in cars and go on airplanes. We use technology in similar ways with smart phones and laptops. We live in houses and apartments, own pets and spend time with our families. Kids in India ride bicycles and play video games or sports for fun. There's a lot of things that connect us.
How might we be different? Well, the things we eat on a daily basis are different. The clothes people wear look different and the music and television shows aren't the same. There are other ways to travel in India, suck as autorickshaws, that aren't common in the United States. Some of the sports, like cricket and khabadi, are not popular or well-known in the United States.
