That being said, there does not seem to be much of a threat posed to the trees here in Argentina, because there are only a few trees and the production of the níspero isn't as heavy as it is in countries like Japan. The only threat that could affect this tree is overproduction. Luckily, the níspero tree has very hard and durable wood, which prevents the trunk and branches from disease. The fruits seem to be more susceptible to disease than the tree itself, but it depends on what region of the world they are in.
