Dear Students,
This is such a great opportunity for me to talk to you all about the steps of my study adventure. Let me introduce myself first. My name is Chloe Zhao. I am an undergraduate student from California State University, Northridge, and I study Communication. Last year I decided to take a study journey to Germany as an exchange student.
A little bit of background about me. I am a first generation immigrant from China. I speak Chinese Mandarin and English. Right now, I am learning my third language, German. I have been learning German for a year. I can speak some basic German for example, if I need to buy things. Although it was not easy for me to start speaking a completely new language, I did it! My hobbies are hiking with my dog (back when I was in California), going to live comedy clubs and meeting new people from different countries and cities.
When I arrived in Germany, a lot of German people asked me the same question “Why did you choose Germany?”. Honestly, it was pretty random for me to choose Germany. I got an email from my university exchange program back in February 2021, where they were promoting study abroad to students.
