La Feria de Sevilla: The Biggest Party of the Year!

Why does the community have this tradition?:

In the beginning, Feria was a livestock fair where farmers from the countryside could come to the city on horseback or by horse-drawn carriage to sell their produce and animals. That's why there are so many horses and horse-drawn carriages during Feria. However, now it's more of a party and an excuse to get dressed up and spend time with friends and family. The city of Sevilla works hard to host the best Feria every year because it draws hundreds of thousands of tourists who want to see this colorful tradition!

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

The countryside of Spain is very fertile and agricultural land, meaning it's perfect for farming and growing crops. When you leave any major city, within 15 minutes you can find yourself in the middle of nowhere and surround only by olive trees and strawberries! A lot of the crops grown in Sevilla are the kind that do great in warm, dry heat. There are tons of palm trees, Eucalyptus (Australian trees) and bamboo! This climate is why there is so much farming in Spain, which explains the need for livestock and animals.
