Sevilla to Madrid: 242 miles in Two Hours

These are easier to navigate through the small streets and have designated parking.

Sevilla also has its own bike share program, so you can borrow bikes to ride around and then return them when you’re done to hubs all over the city. We have a moped share, too! My personal favorite mode of transportation is an electric scooter. Sevilla doesn’t have an electric scooter share, which makes me sad because I ride them at home for fun all the time, but a lot of people own their own scooters. Buses are more popular among locals who live outside of the city and ride them downtown, and the metro only has one line so it’s not very popular either.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

The train system in Spain is operated by a company called Renfe. They operate all the trains throughout the country. They have different kinds of trains, but my favorite is the AVE (Alta Velocidad España). It’s a high speed train that goes up to 193 mph. In comparison, most Amtrak trains only go 100 mph. It’s so fast! It connects all the main cities in the country so you don’t have to fly, drive or take long rides. Madrid is 242 miles away from Sevilla, but when I took the AVE I got there in two hours. These trains are the nicest and most expensive ones in Spain, and the trains include free wi-fi, movies and games on board that you can watch or play on your phone. The trains are also so nice and modern. They’re super clean and futuristic looking. The first time I got onto a Renfe train, it felt like I was on a spaceship. I love them! Traveling by train is so fun because I love looking out the window at the scenery. This has been my favorite mode of transportation by far.
