This week I wanted to give a good friend of mine the outlet to express his experiences and perspectives about studying abroad. We met through our classes and got along well because of our shared interest in international relations and Asian cultures. We plan on staying in touch for years to come, and hopefully, our work will bring us back together!
My name is Sam Woods, and I'm from Australia!
I live in central Taipei, near the Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station in an apartment high-rise. I have a bedroom, bathroom, and a balcony for drying my clothes. Back in Australia, I lived in Sydney as a student at Macquarie University, where I major in Security Studies. However, I'm originally from way down south in a place called Kangaroo Island.
Both my parents are retired entrepreneurs. Now they volunteer to run a veterinary clinic that rehabilitates Australian wildlife. My sister is also studying to become a veterinarian so she can contribute full-time to the operation.
