Yesterday, a co-teacher and I noticed a praying mantis outside of our school building, but instead of the iconic green shade we were familiar with from our experiences at home, this one was brown! After some research, we discovered that in Greece, brown mantises are more common, because grass doesn't grow so much in the humid and dry conditions here. This was news to us, but the camouflage tactic made for a fun fact!
