The Czech Republic has a similar climate to temperate regions of the United States. (Temperate climates are characterized by mild temperatures and four distinct seasons.) It is interesting to compare and contrast the two regions. There is a lot we can learn from each other about how to protect the uniqueness of our regional landscapes.
The Czech Republic is famous for its landscapes. From the mountains of Krkonoše to the natural rock formations in Bohemian Switzerland, the country is gorgeous. Recently, I went hiking through some of these regions with my dad! The highlights were an enormous sandstone arch, beautiful rivers and tall weathered rock formations. This unique landscape has been used in many films, including The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I also hiked through the “Bohemian Grand Canyon” (which is not anywhere near as large as the Grand Canyon in the United States). It was an 8.5-mile round trip with a lot of elevation, and I was very tired afterward! Throughout my exploration of the country, I have found many breathtaking landscapes that are unique to the Czech Republic.
I've also seen remarkable landscapes in Germany, the Czech Republic's neighbor to the east.
