It was raining off and on this week, and the weather has been a little chilly, overall. Although I love the sunny, humid days of summer, this weather is perfect for relaxing at home with a good book or a movie.
The rear of my apartment looks out onto a stream, so I often see ducks, egrets and even a sweet family of otters working on their home! When I'm walking around the city, most of the animals I see are dogs because the people of Florence love their dogs and take them with them everywhere.
It was a sunny day, and I was sitting in our art studio waiting for class to begin, when all of a sudden the sky grew dark with clouds and it began to hail. Five minutes later, the sky was sunny again. I had never seen weather like that before. It was so cool!
With all the rain we got this week, the Arno River, which flows through the middle of Florence, became really full. It was cool to see the normally calm, blue water churning wildly with mud and debris.
