This week, I didn't travel far. I just took long walks around the city, taking in the sights and window shopping.
Since Italy is located in the middle of the Meditteranean region, it is easy to travel to other countries from here. For instance, during my school breaks, I went to Barcelona, Spain and Paris, France. Both Barcelona and Paris are only an hour's plane ride away from Florence. My friends and I spent a week in each place.
To get to and from my classes, I either walk, take the bus or ride the bike my landlord lets me borrow. Since Florence is a small city, you can walk from one end to the other in a couple of hours. From my apartment, it is only a thirty minute walk or a fifteen minute bike ride to school. However despite the city's small size, there is a lot of traffic and a lot of stops along the way, so taking the bus is not in the end much faster than walking!
