For the most part, the weather has been quite nice in Ramallah. Sometimes you wake up and can't wait to set foot outside and experience the nice breeze under the warm sun and clear skies. However, it seems like we are still at the tail end of winter because other days it's cloudy, quite chilly and even a bit rainy.
In this Logbook, I want to tell you a bit about the unique city of Jericho, which I visited this weekend. The temperature and weather in Jericho are usually significantly warmer than other parts of the West Bank, and in particular, in Ramallah and Jerusalem. Jericho is actually considered an oasis in the middle of a desert and is also the lowest city on Earth, as it is more than 800 feet below sea level! Although Jericho is a desert climate, its abundant water sources and high oxygen concentrations classify it as an oasis and enrich the soil with minerals that make it a rich agricultural area for fruits and vegetables.
