What type of money is used here?:

Since Malta is a member of the European Union, it uses the euro as its currency, similar to a lot of other European countries. (The European Union is a group of 27 European countries that cooperate economically and politically.)

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

This depends, of course, on the size of the water bottle, brand of water and where it is purchased. In super touristy areas, I have heard of a 1-liter water bottle costing 4 euros, which is about 4.65 dollars! However, near where I live, I can get a 5-liter water gallon for about 1.60 euros, or about 1.86 dollars.

What was the best meal this week?:

I have had a lot of good meals this week! Something that particularly stands out to me is a dinner I had at a traditional Maltese restaurant in Valletta, the capital of Malta. I met a friend for a comforting meal and got to try the traditional dish of ravioli stuffed with sheep's ricotta cheese and served with fresh tomato sauce and basil. This meal felt somewhat simple, but the freshness of the ingredients really shone through. There isn't a lot of grass in Malta for cows to eat, so sheep's cheese is popular since sheep don't mind grazing on drier plants. Additionally, I have eaten some of the best tomatoes in my life here!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I mostly listened to different types of jazz music this week. I find it calming on my morning bus rides amidst the busyness of rush-hour commuters. I specifically enjoyed listening to the genre of Ethiopian jazz.
