Hello!
I cannot believe I am wrapping up my Fulbright. I officially have twelve days left in Sogamoso before I head back home to Houston.
It's interesting to think that I applied for my Fulbright nearly two years ago. I remember stressing trying to get my application submitted on time while balancing studying for an exam. That moment seems like yesterday, yet seems so long ago at the same time. I can say the same about my arrival in Colombia. A part of me feels that these ten months have at times dragged, yet they also feel as though they have flown.
As I reflect on my time here, here is my list of things that I will miss the most (and things I will not miss).
The Top 5 Things I'll Miss in Colombia:
1. My beloved friends: I truly was fortunate to work with such an incredible team of Colombian professors at UPTC whom I will miss dearly. I feel so grateful that many of them took the time to take me out on outings and made me feel so welcome. A fond memory I made was when Profe (professor) Alex and his wife invited me to their home and then took me on a trip to a pueblo simply to take me to dinner and get to know me better. I'll cherish moments like that for the rest of my life.
3. The "perfect" weather! I'm a Houstonian. We don't get weather like this (chilly and crisp weather) where I'm from.
