Transportation in Romania is not much different than it is in the United States, and getting around is usually simple and cheap. However, there are some problems unique to this country that take some adjusting to.
Here in Suceava, people get around the city by walking, driving or taking the city bus. To go from city to city, most people take the train or bus, or drive themselves if they have a car. I rely a lot on trains and buses because I don't have a car here. Sometimes I also take taxis, although they can be expensive and you have to be careful about being overcharged. If you leave the city and travel out into the countryside, some people still use horse drawn carriages! But you only see these in more rural areas, and they aren't something that someone visiting Romania would use as a method of transportation. In the bigger cities, like in Romania's capital city of Bucharest, there are metros, trolleys, and ride sharing apps (like Uber) that make it pretty simple to get around.
