Goodbye Argentina: Looking Back on My Journey and What Comes Next

Other than that, I am also grateful for my host mom. She is such an amazing, loving and caring lady, and she is what made Buenos Aires feel so warm and welcoming. Having dinner nearly every day with her, getting to talk over the dinner table and getting to meet her family, I truly felt like I was a (host) daughter to her. Dinner tonight will be tearful, but it won't be a complete goodbye, because I will come back to visit someday soon...

I will also miss going out into the darkness of the night with my friends. Last night, my friends and I had our final night out, as it would be the last night we were all going to be together and able to have a full night out. In true Argentine fashion, we had dinner at 9:00 p.m. and headed out to an interesting alcohol-infused ice cream bar at 11:00 p.m. (also my first time having alcoholic ice cream, who knew?), then to a bar at one in the morning, then off to two different clubs from two to four in the morning. Now that is how you have a night out in Argentina. It was nice getting to hang out with these friends I just met four months ago, and even though I will see them again in just a short three months in New York, I am going to miss them so much.

I will also miss being able to TRAVEL! I did not realize how easy and somewhat affordable travel was for me as a U.S. citizen here in Latin America. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I was going to travel to Uruguay and Chile during my semester here at all!
