The weather this week was very hot and humid during the day with rain in the evenings.
Despite being a big city, Taipei actually has a lot of parks and trees for wildlife to inhabit! This week, I saw lots of squirrels and birds like pigeons, sparrows, and herons. I also visited the Taipei Zoo, where I saw elephants, koalas, rhinos, kangaroos, giraffes, monkeys, and giant pandas! They even have a section of the zoo dedicated to animals that are native to Taiwan, like Formosan black bears, rock macaques, pangolins, and leopard cats.
The coolest thing I saw in nature was a massive rat snake. I didn't get too close, but I would guess that it was about 5 or 6 feet long!
