The weather was very stormy at first. We had high winds, with gusts up to 50 knots! It snowed about 5 inches. The weather cleared up yesterday and we even had a sunny afternoon.
This week, we saw two northern bottlenose whales and two male orcas.
The northern bottlenose whales were amazing to see! They came very close to the ship. We could easily see their glossy gray coloring and their rounded heads. They are very rare, so it was amazing to see them!

The northern lights are caused by the solar wind! You can read all about the northern lights in your textbook, or by using a resource such as an encyclopedia.
