There are not that many types of transportation in Paraguay. Many people own cars or private motos, or use the bus. Motos are similar to small motorcycles, and they are popular since they are not that expensive. Sadly there are not that many options for biking, which is something that I wanted to do when I came to Paraguay. I love biking, and it is good for the environment, too.
Travelling within Asunción is much easier than travelling in other parts of the country. Luckily in Asunción, there are several different buses as well as Uber that allows people to get around relatively inexpensively. It is amazing to see how quickly Uber has taken off here. In just a few months of starting up in Paraguay, there are now numerous cars that are always willing to drive you someplace. However, the other major cities in Paraguay do not have Uber yet, and many of them do not have extensive bus systems, either. There are several lines of buses in Asunción, although it can be tricky to find their schedule! Often they do not arrive on time, and can be very crowded.
