Daily Life of Kennedy Thal

For casual events, I like to wear T-shirts, vests and jeans. In Botswana, we call them vests, but Americans call them “tank tops.” 

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I love gardening, cooking, exercising and watching movies in my free time. As I said before, I have a garden in my backyard that I look after every day. I even use vegetables and herbs from my garden to cook many of my meals.  

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak English and Setswana. "Hello" in my native language is Dumela. 

Do you have pets?:

I take care of a few stray cats around my neighborhood. I have a litterbox for them and I leave out food for them when I can. But I don’t necessarily consider them to be my own pets. 

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I have traveled all over the world. Some of the places that I have traveled to include California, Florida, South Africa, Alaska, Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Croatia, Mexico and more! 

What do you do for work?:

I am a professional singer, songwriter and pianist. I also work part-time as a social media influencer and landscaper.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

I hope that you come to visit Africa one day!
