This week's weather did not feel like a normal winter week in Finland. In typical winter, Finland has feet of snow, and the temperature is near 0 degrees Fahrenheit. This week it rained instead of snowing some days, and sometimes it would get cold enough again to snow. Finland also had a few more sunny days than usual, which was very nice. Also, I am starting to notice how the days are increasing in sunlight and how great this feels after some very dark and short days of sunlight in December (it got down to five hours a day).
Due to being in Helsinki for most of the week, I only saw dogs and pigeons. I did not see any foxes, squirrels or local birds like I usually do in Lappeenranta.
