For a class, I read a section from a book called "Would You Like to Clean Our House?" This was my first reading in English. The title gets its name from an incident that happened when the author was a child. Her doctor asked her to join him and his family when he traveled to Europe but as their house servant. The rest of the section is about the discrimination black women experience because of their race and gender. Have you ever discussed discrimination in your classes?
I didn't play any games or sports but I watched people play soccer or futebol (pronounced foo-chee-bow) on the beach.
This week at my university is SEMOC which stands for A Semana de Mobilização Cientifica. This translates to The Week of Scientific Mobilization. Instead of normal classes, students are invited to attend or participate in lectures.
