Brazilians speak Portuguese since they are a former colony of Portugal. Do you know where Portugal is? Brazil is the only lusophone country in South America. Lusophone means Portuguese speaking.
Brazilians use reais.
Most places sell water for R$2. You can buy it at street stands.
I enjoyed the moqueca dish I ate while at Morro de São Paulo. Clearly, since I wrote about moqueca before, I really like this dish.
I listened to so much Brazilian music this past week. At all of the parties I attended, they played a lot of funk music. Funk is very similar to American hip-hop mixed with Caribbean music. It is great dance music!
The most fun activity this week was the Halloween party I attended on Saturday. I help teach an English class for young Brazilian students. The founder of the program called We Speak hosted a party in his backyard. Although it was supposed to be Halloween party, it was the weekend before Halloween. I had so much fun and danced all night.
