Even after I finished university, I continued living in Paris for a couple of years, working hard to obtain the highest level of French.
Today, I’m living in Lugo, Spain! Lugo is a city located in a region called Galicia. Galicia is really special because people speak two languages here: Galician and Castilian (a type of Spanish). It’s also a very religious and historical place. Lugo was built thousands of years ago during the Roman Empire, and many people visit the city to see its famous Roman walls as well as the cathedral. I came to Lugo because I won a Fulbright scholarship, which lets me work as an English language assistant at a high school right in the center of Lugo. Interestingly, I got to choose which part of Spain I wanted to work in, and I picked Galicia because of its interesting history and culture (the food and music is amazing here). My main role as an English language assistant is to help my high school students get better at speaking English; increasing their confidence is key! I love my job, and I love living in Galicia. I can’t wait to teach you more about where I am!
