This week I stayed in Paris and did not travel too far, since I was catching up on sleep due to jet lag. I went to my favorite cafe and got the goat cheese salad. I went to the grocery store and re-stocked my fridge. I met my friend at the mall, known as Place d'Italie, that is a 20-minute walk from my residence.
Since being back in Paris, I haven't had much time to travel. The students return to the residence this week, so the other RAs and I have been preparing for their arrival. School starts up again this week, but I am excited to meet my new fellow classmates.
As I mentioned in a previous article, I use my monthly navigo to get around Paris with the metro and bus. However, since I came back to Paris mid-month, I didn't want to pay for a full month, so I bought what is called a carnet de billets, or a notebook of tickets. In the carnet there are ten tickets that each get you one way. Given how cold it is, I haven't been walking outside as much, so these tickets have gone fast! Luckily, we only have about a week left of January so I can buy an unlimited week on my navigo instead of a month.
