As some of you students already know, I am a bus driver for Ottway school. So how does a bus driver get to go to another country for her own education, you might ask? Through a lot of hard work and determination, that's how. I bet some of you weren't aware that I am a college student. I started at the Walters State Community College in Greeneville, Tennessee. After two years there, I moved on to East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. While you are all in class, I am, too. I get out of my classes just in enough time to pick up students ready to go home for the day!
I decided to go back to college to build a better life for my two boys and md. Cody and Colt are the power behind my drive to get my college degree. With a degree in hand, I feel that I'll be able to help my boys have an easier life. I don't mean that I'll necessarily give them everything they want. I just hope to make it a little easier to get them everything they need.
For most of my sons' lives, it has only been us three, the three amigos. Sometimes life makes it pretty hard on only one parent. A college education is another step up in this life, like climbing a ladder to the sun in order to shine.
