Hola, bienvenidos a mi viaje! Hello, welcome to my journey! Before we embark on this journey together I want to share more about myself and how I ended up in Puebla, Mexico.
I was born in Mundelein, Illinois and have lived there my whole life. Now, I spend most of my time in South Bend, Indiana which is where my school, The University of Notre Dame, is located. Luckily, it is only two and a half hours away so I’m able to go home often. At Notre Dame, I am studying Neuroscience and Behavior and want to go to medical school after college. I also have a supplemental major in Latino Studies. I am 20 years old and currently in my junior year of college.
I did not have the opportunity to travel while growing up but once I got to college I was able to take advantage of so many opportunities. I was 19 when I first got on a plane! Since then I have been on many plane rides and have visited Los Angeles, California, Tucson, Arizona, Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and Monterrey, Mexico. I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures! That is why I decided to study abroad. Picking my destination was pretty easy. My family is from Mexico so I grew up speaking Spanish (it was my first language) and taking part in Mexican traditions. However, I had never visited Mexico until my sophomore year of college.
