¡Hola! Hello! My name is Jisel Gomez. I am 20 years old and I am living and studying in Puebla, Mexico. Did you know the world’s smallest volcano is in Puebla? It is called Cuexcomate and it is only 43 feet tall!
I grew up in a town near Chicago, Illinois called Mundelein. I am now in my third year of college at the University of Notre Dame where I am majoring in neuroscience and behavior while on a pre-med track. Being in Mexico will be the longest I've been away from home (four months)! I did not travel much growing up and went on my first plane ride when I was 19 years old. Since then I have been to Los Angeles, California; Tucson, Arizona; Rapid City; South Dakota; Monterrey, Mexico, and now Puebla, Mexico! I love learning about new cultures and people!
My family is from Mexico, so I wanted to live and study in Mexico to find out more about myself. I grew up speaking Spanish and eating Mexican food, so living in Puebla feels so much like home! For fun I like to read, run, and hang out with my friends. Join me on my journey through Mexico as I share all the new food I try and cool places I visit!
