The festival originated on October 12, 1810, in celebration of the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria, who later became King Louis I, to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. This gave me a chance to learn about and see German culture. I had never been to or experienced a German event, and I found it very fun.
