My students have both Chinese and English names. A few common Chinese names are 子毫 (ZiHao), 恩 (En), and 陳 (Chen). Some common English names are Emily or Ray. My Chinese name is 喬之恩 (Qiao Zhi En)!

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

Students here have a lot of different classes: Chinese, math, English, social studies, biology, home economics, music, health, PE, performing arts, computer science, and scouting. Most of them said that Chinese or English is their favorite!

What is your homework like?:

My students say they have a lot of homework and I agree; they have a lot more homework than American students of the same age do. I admire how hard they all work!

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

Many of my students spend most or all of their time studying, so they don’t have as much time for after-school activities as American students do. Most of them said that when they have free time they like to play video games or be on their phones. Their favorite sports are baseball and basketball. Some students also like soccer, volleyball, and badminton.

K-Pop is probably the most common answer. A lot of students also like rap or pop music in different languages.
